One of the most exciting projects I worked on at YuMe was the Stranger Things Upside Down Capsule. As a huge fan of the show, this was a dream project with complete creative freedom—there was no set brief beyond designing a blind box. I wanted to go beyond the standard cardboard packaging and pushed myself to make something unique, transforming the mini TV capsule packaging into a display for the figure, to truely bring the show to life and transforming the unboxing into an immersive experience.

Inside, I designed every detail to capture the eerie nostalgia of Stranger Things, incorporating clues using scratch off and water reveals, including collectible cards, and stickers that teased the mystery figure inside. To ensure an authentic 80s feel, I worked closely with our factory to source the right wax packs and grainy GSM paper, replicating the classic vintage trading card experience.

Collaborating with the amazing Netflix team, we carefully curated an assortment of fan-favourite characters from Hawkins, Indiana (Eddie and Chrissy included, of course). The success of Series 1 led to the creation of Series 2, with Series 3 currently in development to coincide with the show’s highly anticipated final season coming fall 2025.
